- To travel or walk toward a destination ; to advance or continue moving forward
- To go or walk in a particular direction ; to pass through or along a course
Etymology: "Vade" is a verb meaning to walk along a route, and it is an alteration of "fade". Its meaning is a long way from the sense of fading or wearing away that "fade" carries today, and the change in form seems to have been a respelling of that older verb rather than a new word. The shift from "fade" to "vade" is the surprising part: a word of fading and decay came to name a deliberate movement along a path.
