Etymology: "Unenrolls" is the third-person singular present form of "unenroll", so the verb itself is the thing to explain. It is built from the prefix "un-", which reverses an action, and "enroll", the verb meaning to write a name into a register or list. "Enroll" traces back through Old French "enrouler" to the idea of placing something on a roll, a scroll or list of names, so reversing it means taking a name off that list. The pattern is ordinary English: "un-" attached to a verb to undo it, as in "unlock" or "untie". "Unenroll" is the less familiar member of that group, used mainly in administrative and educational settings, where a student, member or participant is struck from an official record. The word needs no separate history of its own beyond the prefix and the older verb it reverses.
