Etymology: "Shizzle" is built from "shit" and the suffix "-izzle," a playful ending that came to prominence in American slang. The suffix was popularised by rappers and their fans, who attached it to ordinary words as a kind of verbal signature, so that "fo' shizzle" and similar phrases became shorthand for emphatic agreement. The result is a noun formed by a simple process of clipping and substitution rather than by any older root. The "-izzle" ending itself is a deliberately arbitrary sound, which is why it could be pinned onto so many different words in the same way.
