Etymology: "Revibrated" is the past tense and past participle of "revibrate," which is formed simply by attaching the prefix re- ("again, anew") to "vibrate." The base verb "vibrate" comes from the Latin "vibrare," meaning "to move quickly to and fro" or "to brandish," and it reached English as a word for physical trembling or oscillation. Adding re- gives the sense of a vibration that occurs once more after an earlier one has already set something in motion. The prefix does most of the work here: "revibrate" describes a fresh round of oscillation following an original movement, so a bell that rings, falls silent, and then trembles again after being struck by a passing gust is said to have revibrated. Because the formation is transparent, the word reads exactly as its parts suggest, with no change in sense from either component.
