Etymology: "Reuploads" is the third-person singular present form of "reupload," so it simply describes someone or something uploading again. The verb is built from the prefix "re-," meaning again, attached to "upload," which is itself a compound of "up" and "load." The "load" in "upload" comes from Old English "lad," meaning a way or course, which later came to mean carrying a burden, and "up" keeps its ordinary directional sense. Together they produced a term for moving material toward a higher or central place, a meaning that has since been applied to sending files to a computer system or server. The prefix "re-" traces back to Latin "re-," and reached English by way of Old French. Attaching it to "upload" yields a verb meaning to send again something that was already transmitted once.
