Etymology: "Requestee" is a plain formation: the noun "request" with the suffix "-ee", which in English denotes the person who receives the action named by the base word. The pattern is old and productive. "Employee" is someone employed, "trainee" someone being trained, and "payee" someone paid, and "requestee" follows the same model, referring to the person who is asked for help. The suffix itself came into English through Anglo-Norman and Old French, where the "-é" ending marked the recipient of an action, as in "donatee" or "lessee." English speakers then began attaching it freely to verbs and nouns, so it could be used for new coinages whenever a recipient needed naming. "Requestee" is one such formation, built the same way as those older words rather than borrowed from another language.
