Etymology: This is an inflected form, so it needs only a sentence or two: "repartitioned" is the past tense and past participle of "repartition", a verb meaning to divide something again, drawing its boundaries afresh. The base word is formed from the prefix "re-", meaning "again" or "back", attached to "partition", which comes from Latin "partitio", from "partiri", "to divide", ultimately from "pars", "part". "Repartition" itself came into English from Middle French "répartition", and the "re-" prefix was added to the older noun "partition" to give the sense of a second division.
