Etymology: "Relist" is a simple formation: the prefix "re-", meaning "again", attached to "list" in the sense of putting a name on a roll or register. The verb "list" itself came into English from Old French "liste", which in turn was borrowed from Medieval Latin "lista", a strip or border, and the sense of a written catalogue of names developed from that idea of a strip of paper or a line of entries. Once "list" was established, "relist" followed the same pattern as other "re-" verbs such as "rewrite" or "repaint", so its meaning is transparent from its parts.
