Definitions

  2. to return to a vehicle or mode of transport previously exited

Etymology: "Reboards" is the third-person singular present form of "reboard," which is formed by attaching the prefix "re-", meaning "again" or "back," to "board." The base verb "board" comes from the Old English "bord," meaning a plank or side of a ship, and its sense of getting onto a ship, train or aircraft grew from that nautical image of stepping over a vessel's side. Adding "re-" yields the sense of getting back on a conveyance or platform one has already left, or boarding again after a stop or transfer.
