Etymology: "Plurisexuality" is a plain formation: the adjective "plurisexual" with the abstract-noun suffix "-ity" added to it. The adjective itself is built from Latin "plus" or "plur-", meaning "more" or "many", joined to "sexual", so the whole term reads roughly as "many sexualities" or attraction to many sexes and genders. The prefix "pluri-" appears in other coinages such as "pluralism" and "plurilingual," which share the same Latin root. That is why the word sounds scientific or technical: it was assembled from familiar parts rather than inherited from older English usage.
