Etymology: "Peakness" is about as plain as English etymology gets: it is formed by adding the suffix "-ness" to "peak," producing a noun for the quality or state of being at a peak. The suffix "-ness" is an old Germanic formation, used since Old English to turn adjectives into nouns (as in "darkness" or "kindness"), and in this case it attaches to a noun, which is a less common pattern. The base word "peak" has its own separate history, and it is not directly related to "pike" or "pick" despite the appearance. It is the more basic word here, and "peakness" simply inherits its sense of a pointed summit or top.
