Etymology: "Omnific" is a deliberately built word: it combines the Latin prefix "omni-", meaning "all", with the suffix "-ific", from Latin "-ificus", which denotes making or producing. The result means able to create everything. Its construction follows the pattern of "omnipotent" and similar words, so it reads as a natural member of that family even though it is a newer coinage. The "-ific" element is the interesting part. It comes from Latin "facere", "to make", the same root that gives English "fact" and "factory" in its Latin forms, and it appears in English words such as "terrific" and "prolific". By attaching it to "omni-", the coiner took a word meaning "all" and joined it to a suffix of making, producing a single adjective for creation on a total scale.
