Etymology: "Nargilies" is the plural of "nargily," the English word for a water-pipe used for smoking. The singular form entered English from Turkish, where the pipe is called "nargile," itself borrowed from Persian "nārgīl," meaning "coconut," a reference to the coconut-shell body that many of these pipes were built around. The plural follows the English habit of adding "-es," giving "nargilies" for more than one pipe.
