Etymology: "Monetisations" is simply the plural of "monetisation", the noun for the act of turning something into money or making it profitable. That noun is formed from "monetise", a verb built on the Latin "moneta", meaning "mint" or "coin", which in turn gave English "money". The "-isation" ending, the British spelling of "-ization", comes from Greek "-izein" by way of Latin and French, and it turns a verb into a noun naming the process, so "monetisation" is literally the process of making something monetary. The plural form is used when referring to several separate instances, such as the different assets a company has converted into income.
