Etymology: The plural form "eucharises" comes from "eucharis," which is the name of the genus Eucharis, a group of bulbous plants that includes the Amazon lily. The genus takes its name from the Greek adjective "eucharis," meaning graceful or gracious. That word combines "eu," meaning well or good, with "charis," meaning grace, favour or charm. "Charis" is also the root behind a neighbouring Greek word, "eucharistia," meaning thanksgiving, which is where the English idea of giving thanks connects to this family of words. The genus name, though, comes from the sense of graciousness rather than thanks.
