Etymology: "Diffusedly" is simply "diffused" plus the adverbial suffix "-ly." "Diffused" is the past participle of "diffuse," which comes from Latin "diffundere," meaning "to pour out, spread abroad," built from "dis-" ("apart, in different directions") and "fundere" ("to pour"). That same verb gave English "effuse," "fusion," and "profuse," all sharing the image of liquid pouring outward or mingling. English adopted "diffuse" in the 15th century, first as an adjective meaning "spread out" or "wordy," and the sense of spreading thinly over a wide area followed. The adverb "diffusedly" is a much later and rarer formation, built on the adjective "diffused" plus "-ly," and it is attested in dictionaries mainly in the 19th and 20th centuries. Its use is uncommon, so it appears most often in technical or deliberately descriptive writing.
