Etymology: "Bloggery" is a straightforward formation: the noun "blog," itself a shortening of "weblog," with the suffix "-ery" added to it. The suffix comes from Old French "-erie," which English adopted to form nouns naming a practice, a place, or a collective quality, as in "bakery," "brewery," and "bravery." Attaching it to "blog" produces a term for the activity or habit of blogging, and here the sense has been narrowed to a pejorative one: the endless, low-value posting that fills the web without adding much of substance.
