Etymology: "Anagrammatical" is a straightforward formation: it comes from Latin "anagrammaticus", which itself derives from Greek "anagrammatismos", the art of rearranging the letters of a word or phrase to form another. The Latin adjective was built on that Greek base, and English added the adjectival suffix "-al" to it, producing the form we use. The base word "anagram" is the more familiar of the two, and "anagrammatical" simply describes something relating to such letter rearrangement.
