Etymology: "Agriculturally" is simply "agricultural" with the adverbial ending "-ly" attached. The adjective "agricultural" was formed in English from the noun "agriculture", which passed into Middle English from Middle French "agriculture", itself taken from Latin "agricultura". That Latin word joins "ager", meaning field, to "cultura", meaning cultivation or tending, so the whole idea behind the word is the tending of fields. The ending does the grammatical work. It comes from Old English "-līċe", which was the standard way of turning adjectives into adverbs, and it developed into the Middle English and modern "-ly". So an agricultural approach is one carried out in the manner of farming, and "agriculturally" describes something done in that manner, such as a region being developed agriculturally.
